He didn't come out because he was NOT in. That NYT article just stated an affirmation about a brilliant actor's sexuality, that anyone who cared enough to Google his name at all (or paid attention to his constant company at awards shows, for that matter) knew aeons ago. The man is fiercely private, and that is NOT tantamount to having been in the closet. Gay, straight, bi ... being discreet in Hollywood like Jim is something to be admired in today's reality show-crazed world. (And on that note, may I just say that his sexuality is irrelevant to what His Royal Hotness does to girls like me.)
